The 5th International Conference on Law, Social Science, Economics, and Education (ICLSSEE 2025)

Salatiga, May 24, 2025 — Borobudur University has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to advancing research dissemination and scholarly collaboration by successfully co-hosting an international online conference with the Meira Visi Persada Foundation (MVP). This initiative highlights the vital role of international seminars in enhancing academic discourse and productivity, ultimately benefiting Indonesian society.

In this spirit, Borobudur University proudly announced “The 5th International Conference on Law, Social Science, Economics, and Education (ICLSSEE 2025)”, held on Saturday, May 24, 2025. This year’s conference carried the theme “Innovation for The Future: Functions and Impacts of AI in Law, Economics, Education, and Social Sciences.” The event attracted over 170 participants from various universities around the world.

The conference was officially opened by a moderator from Meira Visi Persada Foundation, who led the opening prayer and welcomed attendees. This was followed by the singing of the Indonesian national anthem. The opening remarks were delivered by several key figures, starting with Mrs. Meida Rachmawati, MH., MM., Ph.D, Head of Meira Visi Persada Foundation. She was followed by Prof. Dr. H. Faisal Santiago, SH, MM, Director of the Postgraduate Program at Borobudur University; Dr. Amri, S.E., M.M., Director of the Postgraduate Program at MSIM – ISB Atma Luhur Pangkalpinang; and Prof. Ir. H. Bambang Bernanthos, M.Sc., Rector of Borobudur University.

The conference was conducted entirely online via the Zoom platform, allowing participants to join from anywhere in the world. This setup proved ideal for facilitating international collaboration, with keynote speakers and participants engaging from various countries, further enhancing the global exchange of ideas.

The main session featured a series of distinguished keynote speakers:

  • Dr. Jabbar Abdulrahman Qahar from Duhok University, Iraq;
  • Prof. Dr. Dileep Kumar, Vice Chancellor of Hensard University, Nigeria, who delivered an address on “Business Transformation and Sustainability”;
  • Irjen. Pol. Prof. Dr. H. Dadang Hartanto, S.H., S.I.K., M.Si. from the Indonesian Police Science College.

These sessions were followed by an interactive Q&A segment that allowed participants to engage directly with the keynote speakers, sparking lively discussions.

Subsequent sessions showcased contributions from international scholars, including:

  • Assoc. Prof. Dr. Radin Firdaus, B.R.B. (Universiti Sains Malaysia) on “Youth in Agriculture: Factors Influencing Young Farmers in Cash Crop Farming”;
  • Julie Simon Macariola (Shinawatra International University);
  • Dr. Nico Irawan, S.S., M.Pd. (Stamford International University) on Innovation for The Future Functions and Impacts of AI in Education”;
  • Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rianto Nurcahyo, SE.MM (Binus Business School) on The Impact of AI on Students;
  • Professor Michael Hardy (Coventry University) on “Public Leadership in a Digital Age: Dealing with the Unknown”;
  • Assoc. Prof. Dr. H. Boy Nurdin, S.H., M.H., CBL. (Borobudur University) on “AI, Judge, Law, and Justice: The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Law Enforcement in Indonesia.”

Each presentation was followed by a moderated discussion, emphasizing participant engagement and knowledge exchange.

After the main session concluded, participants were given a 40-minute break before transitioning to the Parallel Sessions, where they presented their research papers in smaller breakout groups. At least nine parallel groups were held, promoting deeper discussions and offering insightful perspectives from diverse academic fields.

The conference concluded successfully, running smoothly and on time. The next phase is the publication of the conference proceedings, which is expected to be completed as scheduled.

ICLSSEE 2025 marks a significant step forward in international academic collaboration and research dissemination. With a strong foundation laid this year, Borobudur University and its partners look forward to even greater success in future conferences, continuing to contribute meaningfully to global scholarship and public benefit.
